Zig Zag City South is a placemaking event designed to showcase our Precinct’s unique character and support our local traders & organisations. Our second Zig Zag music event happened on Saturday July 20 2019 with daytime gigs in venues around Whitmore Square and night-time gigs in venues along King William St, Halifax and Carrington Streets. This unique showcase was a major event within the Umbrella Winter Music Festival program. City South venues hosted a variety of live acoustic, big band, blues, lounge, rock and electronic music gigs and DJ sets. All the gigs were free entry,
DAYTIME PROGRAM 12PM – 6PM
Dinsdale Duo at Cafe Outside the Square
Featuring Michael (on Mandolin) and Tim (on guitar) from renowned band Hurting Curtis, Dinsdale are here to spread their folk-pop goodness to all and sundry! They will kick off the Zig Zag event in fine style! Great food and coffee available too!

Bellydance Performance & Workshop
Bellydance Amethyst are hosting a free performance and come-and-try workshop for all ages at their local studio space. If you’ve ever been curious to see and join in this exotic movement style, then this is your chance!

Beatles at The Brunswick

Play Lady Play at Sparkke At The Whitmore
Two of Adelaide’s favourite female DJs Ruby Chew and Anne Wiberg (Wipod) spin nothing but funky soulful moods and tunes from 2pm in the newly enclosed beer garden & restaurant space. All day dining, fantastic drinks, and great grooves on a Saturday arvo!

City of Adelaide Concert Band at St Lukes Church Hall
Established in 1936, this stalwart collective travel all over the State, performing jazz, classical and big band favourites to appreciative audiences everywhere. It’s an honour to have the Concert Band grace the beautiful St Lukes Church stage for what will be a memorable afternoon of uplifting sounds

The Levitators live at The Crown & Sceptre
Legends of live electronica, The Levitators bring punchy beats, potent grooves and addictive energy to the stage everytime they play. This will be a special night, as the boys return to their spiritual home for a one-off party alongside DJ Skot Holder & guests! Meals available to 9pm too!

Lucifers Lounge at The Irish Club (Upstairs)

The J’s Hey Days at The Kings Head (Front Bar)
DJs Mark Yusef Wilson and Smiley present a night of classic indie and alternative tunes spanning the 90s and 00s. Expect to hear plenty of Hottest 100 anthems alongside the Aus, UK and US bands that dominated the airwaves back in the day! Great pub food available to 9pm as well.
