Xmas Yarn Bombing 2014-2018
From 2014-2018, Committee Member Bri-Anne Keen has coordinated the construction and display of red, white and green knitted Yarn Bombs on both Whitmore and Hurtle Squares as a quirky Christmas display. The bombs were attached to light poles and benches for the month of December as a simple and fun Christmas decoration, and the response to them was always positive.
Each year, the Bombs were washed and stored carefully, but of course, over time the condition of some of them deteriorated. After 2018, the salvageable Bombs were either repurposed as part of our Yarn Bomb Xmas Trees
(see above), or donated to animal shelters to be used as blankets.
City South would like to acknowledge all the hard work put in by Bri-Anne Keen and her fellow crochet devotees
to realise this project.
