On Sunday June 22 2014, City South Association hosted the Art-Sea Field Day in Field St, Adelaide.
Field Street is a popular thoroughfare linking Chinatown, Gouger St and the City South Precinct. At the time, it was home to Angelakis fish processing operations and oyster sales. With the help from a grant from Arts SA, a fish/water themed mural on the street’s bitumen was proposed by City South and local artists were brought onboard to realise this vision
Many people came along to try temporary stencil or chalk art, and watch Adelaide artists Chad Spencer, David Brimer, Donovan Christie, Fletch, Fredsticks, Joshua Smith, OGS, Ryan P, SG1 and Stitchface transform the road surface with their designs.
Below are some pictures of the event as well as a Youtube video showing the mural coming together. Parts of this video were featured in a promotion screened in India as part of build up to the International Cricket series being held at Adelaide Oval around the same time.
